Former NRL Cronulla Sharks captain Paul Gallen and ex-AFL player Barry Hall will square off in the boxing ring next Friday night, in a cross-code clash pitting rugby league against Australian rules.
The Friday night fight card will feature the Moloney brothers, Jason and Andrew, on the undercard, and is being put on by Danny Green.
ESPN+, 3:00 am ET, Paul Gallen vs Barry Hall, Andrew Moloney vs Elton Dharry, Jason Moloney vs Dixon Flores. The Moloney twins are serious contenders at 115 and 118 and also with Top Rank, but this is a Danny Green-promoted card, and neither of them are the main event here.
Gallen is a 38-year-old rugby league footballer with a 9-0 career boxing record of no significance, facing Hall, a 42-year-old Australian rules footballer making his pro boxing debut, although he did box amateur in his youth.
Hall is known as a BAD BOY of his sport. In America and England we get something like KSI-Logan Paul, but Australians are insane people who only make it out of childhood by evading six million poisonous creatures, so their celebrity fights are still between a couple of actual tough guys.
WHEN IS THE FIGHT AND HOW CAN I WATCH?
The fight is on Friday, November 15, and is expected to kick off at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena at 7pm AEDT.
The showdown will be held over six two-minute rounds.
The bout is being streamed live on Foxtel’s Main Event pay-per-view, with the card costing $49.95.
For those wanting to attend the fight, tickets are still available through Ticketek, starting from $49 for a seat in the upper tier.
